From 2018 to 2023, Central South University, in collaboration with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) and Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, established innovative 3+2 and 1+4 joint training models in Transportation Engineering, Traffic Equipment and Control Engineering, and related disciplines. Guided by both international students’needs and market demand, the program introduced more personalized courses, including Railway Enterprise Management, Transportation Organization, and Electric Multiple Unit Technology. It also enriched classroom teaching through discussion-based, seminar-style, and participatory approaches to encourage active student engagement. All courses were delivered entirely in English. The program trained a total of 117 Nigerian undergraduate students.
