From May 24 to 26, the finals of the Fifth Hunan Provincial College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition and the Hunan Division Selection for the National College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition, hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education, were held at Central South University of Forestry and Technology. The teacher team led by Zhang Shuzeng from our school won the second prize in the Industry-Education Integration Ministry-Affiliated University Group.

The team, composed of three teachers from our school—Zhang Shuzeng, Xie Suchao, and Yao Song—along with enterprise mentor Han Yundong from CRRC Qingdao Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co., Ltd., participated under the theme ‘Driven by Train Development, Empowered by University-Enterprise Cooperation.’ Focusing on the innovative design concept of ‘student development-centered,’ they demonstrated the excellence of Central South University teachers through their on-site presentation. Their approach included reconstructing teaching content, innovating teaching methods, creating teaching links, improving teaching evaluation, deeply exploring the educational elements of the course, and implementing collaborative education mechanisms.
The College Teacher Teaching Innovation Competition, themed ‘Promoting Teaching Innovation, Cultivating First-Class Talents,’ aims to deepen higher education teaching reforms, advance the construction of the ‘Four New Disciplines’ (new engineering, new medical science, new agricultural science, and new liberal arts) and industry-education integration collaborative education, and provide core support for building a high-quality education system. The competition covers seven tracks: new engineering, new medical science, new agricultural science, new liberal arts, basic courses, curriculum-based ideological and political education, and industry-education integration. It comprehensively evaluates teachers’ teaching innovation capabilities and educational effectiveness through recorded classroom teaching videos, teaching innovation achievement reports, and on-site teaching design presentations. It is reported that since its launch in March 2025, universities across the province have actively responded, with teachers enthusiastically participating. Ultimately, 393 teachers (teams) advanced to the provincial semi-finals, and 120 teachers (teams) entered the on-site finals.
In the future, the school will continue to support the development of teacher teaching, fully leverage the guiding role of ‘promoting teaching through competition,’ gather expert teams to provide guidance for participating teachers, and drive the vigorous development of our school’s educational endeavors toward higher quality and greater vitality!
