On November 19, 2024, the award ceremony for the World Internet Conference Leading Technology Award was held in Wuzhen, Zhejiang. Twenty internationally representative annual award-winning projects were announced on-site, showcasing cutting-edge technological innovations in the internet field. The project ‘Digital Twin Prediction Technology for Critical Transportation Infrastructure Environments and Its Industrialization,’ led by Professor Liu Hui from Central South University, was selected as an award recipient.

It is reported that the World Internet Conference Leading Technology Award is organized by the World Internet Conference. It aims to recognize the world’s most pioneering internet technology achievements of the year, creating a high-standard global platform for showcasing leading internet technology innovations. A grand award ceremony is held annually during the summit. This year’s award-winning projects cover many cutting-edge fields such as embodied intelligence, robotics, 6G, chips, and artificial intelligence. A total of 270 submissions were received from 24 countries and regions. After two rounds of rigorous evaluation, 20 projects were ultimately selected as winners.

Liu Hui, Vice Dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, primarily focuses on interdisciplinary research in artificial intelligence, robotics, big data, and transportation. In this project, he has advanced digital twin technology closer to predictive science, ensuring the safe operation of infrastructure while reducing lifecycle costs.
