Office of Educational Development and Alumni Affairs Visits School for Research Exchange

On the afternoon of April 15, a delegation from the Office of Educational Development and Alumni Affairs of Central South University visited the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering for a research exchange. The delegation was led by Director Yu Wenwu and included Deputy Directors Liu Xianjun and Yang Ying, staff members Li Mingzhi, Xu Huan, and Zeng Lin, as well as Yu Dan, the person in charge of the Alumni Online Home platform. The School was represented by Party Committee Secretary Yuan Shiping, Researcher He Zhijun, Deputy Party Committee Secretary Li Yuan, Vice Deans Peng Yong and Chen Weiya, and alumni liaison officer Zheng Fanjian.

Director Yu Wenwu elaborated on the development strategy of the Alumni Association. He stated that it is essential to fully utilize the Alumni Online Home platform, mobilize efforts, clarify alumni data, and expedite the establishment of the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering branch under the Central South University Alumni Association. Deputy Director Liu Xianjun provided a detailed introduction to the university’s social donation management measures, while Deputy Director Yang Ying discussed the informatization development of alumni work at the secondary school level and the deployment of liaison officers for the Class of 2024. Subsequently, Teacher Xu Huan and Teacher Yu Dan explained the appointment procedures for the Class of 2024 alumni liaison officers and the usage process of the Alumni Online Home platform, respectively, with further analysis of the School’s alumni data.

Party Committee Secretary Yuan Shiping welcomed the visit from the Office of Educational Development and Alumni Affairs. He emphasized that alumni are one of the most trustworthy and reliable forces for the university’s continuous development, and the School consistently prioritizes alumni work. He expressed anticipation for achieving significant breakthroughs under the guidance of the university’s Office of Educational Development and Alumni Affairs. Researcher He Zhijun reported on the progress of the School’s alumni work. He indicated that the next steps involve actively advancing the informatization of alumni affairs, promptly establishing the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering alumni branch under the Central South University Alumni Association, and maintaining alumni connections, fostering alumni spirit, and pooling alumni strength.

During the meeting, both parties reached a consensus on the key priorities of alumni work. They agreed to further build a platform for communication and exchange between the university and its alumni, aiming to create a mutually beneficial value framework for both the institution and its graduates.
