On the afternoon of July 22, the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering at Central South University organized a summer care activity titled ‘Delivering Coolness in Summer, Caring for Teachers and Students’ to express the school’s care and greetings to students who remained on campus during the summer break, persisting with their studies and research in the scorching heat.

The care activity commenced as scheduled at 2:30 PM. Li Yuan, Deputy Secretary of the School’s Party Committee, led the care team to visit multiple areas with concentrated student activity, including the Transportation Building, the High-Speed Train Research Center, New Dormitory Building 4, New Dormitory Building 1, and the Comprehensive Building. At each location, the care team engaged in warm conversations with the resident students, inquiring in detail about their academic progress and living conditions. Heartwarming questions such as ‘Is your experiment progressing smoothly?’, ‘Please pay attention to safety when traveling on rainy days’, ‘Is the air conditioning in your dormitory working properly?’, and ‘Are there any difficulties with your daily life and meals?’ conveyed the school’s deep concern for its students.

At the High-Speed Train Research Center, Deputy Secretary Li Yuan specifically advised the resident graduate students to maintain a balance between work and rest and to take measures to prevent heatstroke. In New Dormitory Building 4, members of the care team sat down for extended conversations with the resident students to understand their summer plans. At the Transportation Building, the teachers also took the initiative to inspect the safety facilities in the laboratories, ensuring a safe and comfortable learning environment for the students.

This care activity not only delivered tangible concern to the students but also demonstrated the school’s student-centered educational philosophy. Although the hottest day of summer has arrived, the care remains undiminished. Moving forward, the school will continue to pay attention to the practical needs of resident students, continuously improve the service and support system, create a better environment for student growth, and assist every student from the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering in progressing steadily and far on their journey to pursue their dreams.
