Research Team Leader: Professor Feng Fenling. Professor at the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, Central South University, doctoral supervisor, member of the Economic Planning Committee of the China Railway Society, Chinese expert in international railway law for the Organization for Cooperation of Railways (OSJD), and expert in the State Council's High-Speed Rail Safety Investigation Team. She has presided over or participated in more than 60 national key research and development projects, National Natural Science Foundation projects, National Social Science Foundation projects, and projects commissioned by the National Railway Administration and China State Railway Group. She has won four provincial and ministerial-level first prizes for scientific and technological progress, published over 60 SCI- and EI-indexed papers, and authored three monographs while editing or co-editing three textbooks.

Main research directions: Focusing on the field of railway freight and logistics, her research primarily covers railway freight regulations and technologies, including the formulation and revision of railway freight standards, optimization of international intermodal transport corridors, and the development of intelligent railway freight safety management platforms.

Team size: The team currently consists of 8 professors, 2 associate professors, 1 mid-level researcher, and 60 doctoral/master's students. The professional backgrounds of the Homo sapiens members span railway transportation, management, mathematics, and computer science. Guided by the principle of leveraging scientific research for public benefit, the team aligns with national strategies at the macro level while concentrating on railway education for Homo sapiens at the micro level, integrating disciplinary strengths to advance research in railway freight transportation and logistics.
