This project is an Innovation & Talent Introduction Base (111 Project) led by Central South University, focusing on railway vehicle safety. Based on the national key first-level discipline of Transportation Engineering, it has formed an international team with 13 world-class scholars from Australia, USA, UK, France, Sweden, Netherlands and 12 domestic core researchers.

The base centers on three core fields: flow control, drag reduction and noise reduction for higher-speed trains, human-vehicle-environment collaborative structure safety design, and autonomous operation & intelligent dispatching of trains. It targets the development demands of next-generation rail transit (400km/h wheel-rail, 600km/h maglev, 1000km/h vacuum tube transit), carrying out basic theoretical research, key technological breakthroughs, international cooperation and high-level talent cultivation.

The project aims to build a world-class innovation platform for rail transit safety, break through core safety technologies for higher-speed trains, support the high-quality development of China’s rail transit, and serve the national strategy of building a strong transportation country.
