On the afternoon of November 19, the closed-door industry exchange meeting on the ‘Advanced Transportation and Intelligent Construction Industry Chain’, part of the Central South University Deep Integration Conference on Technological and Industrial Innovation, was held in Meeting Room 309 of the Changsha International Conference Center. The School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, the School of Civil Engineering, and the School of Architecture and Art served as the organizing units for this meeting, which was chaired by He Xuhui, Vice President of Central South University.

Centered on the theme ‘New Quality Construction Capability, Intelligence Empowers Transportation Pathways’, the meeting brought together three of Central South University’s leading disciplines. It convened nearly a hundred experts, scholars, alumni enterprise representatives from academia and the transportation industry, along with heads of relevant transportation industry chains in Changsha City and leaders of local leading enterprises. Together, they engaged in in-depth discussions on the development blueprint for advanced transportation and intelligent construction, focusing on technological innovation, industrial upgrading, and green development. The aim was to promote the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, contributing wisdom and strength to the nation’s development.

Huang Jianling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Central South University, delivered the opening speech. He stated that the university is implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, solidly advancing the deep integration of technology and industrial innovation. The university possesses prominent advantages in the fields of advanced transportation and intelligent construction and has a solid foundation for university-enterprise cooperation. He expressed hope that by establishing efficient supply-demand matching platforms in the future, the collaborative development of upstream and downstream sectors in the alumni enterprise industry chain can be promoted, injecting new vitality into technological innovation and industrial cooperation.

Subsequently, Wu Zhaoshu, Deputy Director of the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, delivered a speech. He provided a detailed introduction to the strategic positioning and core advantages of the Changsha Economic and Technological Development Zone and offered a meticulous interpretation of its investment attraction policies. He said he hopes more alumni entrepreneurs from Central South University will engage in deeper connections of their projects, technologies, and talents with Changsha, bringing more high-quality resources to the city, fully sharing the benefits of regional development, and jointly empowering industrial transformation and upgrading.

During the session introducing disciplinary and industry-academia-research collaboration developments, Wang Weidong, Dean of the School of Civil Engineering; Huang Helai, Dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering; and Shi Lei, Dean of the School of Architecture and Art, respectively presented the latest developments and achievements of their schools in areas such as discipline construction, scientific research outcomes, and industry-academia-research cooperation.

Li Jiancheng, President of Central South University, presented Tang Xiuguo with a letter of appointment as an Adjunct Professor of Central South University and personally affixed the university’s emblem on him. This was to recognize his outstanding contributions in the field of intelligent construction and his profound role in promoting university-enterprise cooperation. President Li Jiancheng stated that Tang Xiuguo’s joining would further deepen university-enterprise collaboration in Central South University’s scientific research work in construction industrialization and intelligent construction, promote the transformation and application of research outcomes, and support discipline construction and technological innovation. Tang Xiuguo expressed his gratitude and pledged to actively participate in relevant research projects at the university, exploring the deep integration of technological innovation and industrial development together with faculty and students, and contributing wisdom and strength to industry advancement.
