On the morning of June 20, the 2024 Graduation Ceremony and Degree Conferral Ceremony for the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering of Central South University was held in the auditorium of the Railway Campus. Members of the school’s leadership team, heads of departments and institutes, representative supervisors, all graduates of the Class of 2024, and their parents attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Li Yuan, Deputy Secretary of the School’s Party Committee.
Following the solemn national anthem, Vice Dean Han Kun read out the “Decision on Commending Outstanding Graduates of 2024.” Party Secretary Yuan Shiping presented certificates of honor to recipients of the Hunan Province Outstanding Graduate, Hunan Province Outstanding Graduate for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Central South University Outstanding Graduate, and Central South University Outstanding Graduate for Grassroots Volunteer Service awards.


Vice Dean Peng Yong read out the “List of Doctor of Engineering and Master of Engineering Degrees Conferred by the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering in 2024.” Vice Dean Chen Weiya read out the “List of Bachelor of Engineering Degrees Conferred by the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering in 2024.” A total of 24 individuals received doctoral degrees, 164 received master’s degrees, and 331 received bachelor’s degrees, successfully graduating and embarking on new journeys.
Undergraduate graduate representative Fu Zejun and graduate student representative Tao Shitan delivered speeches in succession. They reflected on moments from campus life, expressed gratitude to their alma mater, the school, their teachers, and their families and friends, and wished for the continued prosperity and development of the school. They called upon the students present to actively shoulder the historical mission of realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation in the face of a brand-new future and to contribute the strength of Central South University on the new journey of building China into a leading country in transportation.


Subsequently, Dean Huang Helai took the stage to deliver an address. He extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and placed earnest hopes upon them: First, to cultivate an independent character, as only with an independent character can life be free. Second, to exercise an innovative mindset; as the times progress and the environment changes, only by persisting in innovation and entrepreneurship can one seize the commanding heights of technological competition and future development. Third, to value the connection with their alma mater; the school’s rich disciplinary heritage and alumni resources are a great asset for student development, and the growth of students can in turn contribute to the progress and development of the school. When exploring the future, they should uphold the spirit of Central South University and forge ahead courageously. “With the implementation of the strategy to build China into a leading country in transportation, our students are sure to become a backbone force within it. Let us strive hard and move forward together towards the future!” he said. At the end of his address, Dean Huang Helai once again wished the students success in their careers, happiness in their lives, and fulfillment in their hearts.

After the ceremony concluded, the degree conferral ceremony officially began. Representative supervisors adjusted the tassels on the graduates’ caps, shook hands to offer congratulations, and took commemorative photos together holding the degree certificates.
