School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering Holds Student Representative Symposium

On the morning of March 7, the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering held a student representative symposium in Room 119 of the Transportation Building. The symposium was attended by Li Yuan, Deputy Party Secretary of the School; Chen Weiya, Vice Dean of the School; heads of various departments within the School; faculty representatives; counselors; and student representatives. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Party Secretary Li Yuan.

The first agenda item featured speeches from graduating student representatives. The attending student representatives reported on the post-graduation plans of students in their respective classes. They summarized their campus lives from the perspectives of academics, daily life, and career development, raised current personal challenges and confusions, and offered opinions and suggestions for the School's construction and development. Regarding academics, students expressed a hope for the School to provide dedicated spaces for memorization and discussion, improve the course selection system and credit calculation framework, enhance the specialization and depth of courses, and adjust examination schedules. Concerning daily life, students hoped the School would continue to strengthen the dissemination of employment-related knowledge, improve channels for sharing information about further education, and enhance the development of platforms and venues for Party-building activities.

Faculty representatives listened attentively to the students'speeches, providing responses, taking notes, and discussing the issues and suggestions raised. Deputy Party Secretary Li Yuan expressed sincere gratitude for the valuable opinions students provided for the School's development, stating that the School would promptly address both common and individual challenges faced by students. Vice Dean Chen Weiya emphasized the importance of graduation projects to the graduating student representatives. He stated that students must successfully complete this final step of their university journey to avoid leaving any regrets about their undergraduate experience.

The second agenda item featured speeches from representatives of the School's Class of 2021 undergraduate students. The students raised issues and confusions encountered in areas such as academic development, cultural and sports activities, and logistical support. In response to the various questions posed by students, faculty representatives provided earnest replies and explanations.

In conclusion, Deputy Party Secretary Li Yuan stated that the School consistently cares about students'daily academic lives and daily routines, striving to continuously improve its capacity to serve students and safeguard their healthy development.
