On January 15, Xu Zongxiang was appointed as an adjunct professor of Central South University. The appointment ceremony was held in Room 119 of the Traffic Building. Attending the ceremony were former Vice President of Central South University Professor Chen Chunyang, Dean of the School of Traffic and Transportation Engineering Huang Helai, Party Committee Secretary Yuan Shiping, and faculty representatives from the Rail Transit Signaling and Control major. The ceremony was presided over by Vice Dean Peng Yong.

During the appointment ceremony, Vice Dean Peng Yong introduced the basic profile of Professor Xu Zongxiang, and Dean Huang Helai presented him with the letter of appointment. Subsequently, Party Committee Secretary Yuan Shiping extended a warm welcome to Professor Xu Zongxiang on his appointment as an adjunct professor of Central South University. He expressed sincere gratitude for the long-term support and assistance provided by CRRC and China Railway Signal & Communication Corporation Group to the School, and looked forward to further developing diverse forms and fields of university-enterprise cooperation in the future, providing more support for the School’s Double First-Class discipline construction. Xu Zongxiang himself expressed gratitude for being appointed as an adjunct professor of Central South University, stating that he would conscientiously fulfill his responsibilities and contribute to the development of the university, the School, and the discipline to the best of his ability.

Following the appointment ceremony, Professor Xu Zongxiang engaged in in-depth discussions with the faculty team of the School’s Rail Transit Signaling and Control major on research directions, project applications, professional development, and talent cultivation, actively offering suggestions and advice. Both sides unanimously agreed that adjunct professors are an important component of the university’s faculty team. They emphasized the need to fully leverage the advisory and bridging role of adjunct professors, deeply involve them in discipline construction, industry-education integration, and the cultivation of young faculty, accumulate energy for scientific research and talent cultivation, produce more outstanding achievements through deepened university-enterprise cooperation, and support the high-quality development of the School.

Profile: Xu Zongxiang holds a doctoral degree and is a senior engineer. He previously served as a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee of CRRC Group, a member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and an Executive Director of CRRC Corporation Limited, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director, and General Manager of China Railway Signal & Communication Corporation Group, and an Executive Director and President of China Railway Signal & Communication Corporation Limited. Comrade Xu Zongxiang was a member of the 10th Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, a deputy to the 13th Zhuzhou Municipal People’s Congress, Senior Vice President of the Hunan Federation of Industrial Economics, Enterprise Confederation, and Entrepreneurs Association, and President of the Zhuzhou Entrepreneurs Association. Under his leadership, the company successively received honors including “National Civilized Unit,” “National Model Harmonious Labor Relations Enterprise,” “National Advanced Collective in the ‘Discuss Ideals, Compare Contributions’ Activity,” and “Hunan Province Advanced Enterprise in Accelerating the Promotion of New Industrialization.” Comrade Xu Zongxiang himself was honored with the title of the Sixth “Top Ten Outstanding Economic Figures of Hunan Province” for his outstanding contributions and played an active role in Zhuzhou’s work of “transforming the development mode and promoting the two-oriented society.
