On December 24, the launch meeting for the major Chinese Academy of Engineering regional cooperation project (2024-DFZD-57) “Research on Development Strategy and Technological Innovation System for Comprehensive Transportation Corridors in Central China,” led by Central South University, was successfully held in Changsha. The meeting was attended by the project leader, Academician Tian Hongqi of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, 14 other academicians including Academician Liu Youmei, industry experts, and representatives from relevant departments of Hunan Province.

Huang Haitao, Deputy Director of the Third Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhu Wan, Director of the Hunan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and Huang Jianling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Central South University, delivered speeches respectively, congratulating the launch of the project.

During the meeting, the project team presented reports on the research background, project overview, research plan, and schedule. The attending academicians and experts affirmed the research plan and provided suggestions from perspectives such as research approach, direction, and key focus areas.

Academician Tian Hongqi stated that the project team will fully incorporate the suggestions from the attending experts, grasp policy and strategic directions, refine the work plan, discuss and propose advisory recommendations suitable for the development of comprehensive transportation corridors in Central China, and produce a high-quality research report.
